Jamie Whitham is set to miss the start of close-season testing for the 2003 World Supersport championship.
He has elected to stay in the UK to see a specialist about his knee injury, and will be replaced for the tests by Italian Gianluigi Scalvini. Scalvini and Belgarda rider Paolo Casoli will be testing both the new and old versions of the Yamaha YZF-R6 at Valencia in Spain. The tests are scheduled to run into December, so Whitham may join the team at a later date.
