The season-long battle between Ducati’s Troy Bayliss and Honda’s Colin Edwards comes to the boil on Sunday September 29 at Imola in Italy.

The balance of power has swung away from Bayliss and the defending champion conceded the lead in the series for the first time in 2002 when he highsided his 998 at the penultimate round at Assen, Holland.

Now, Edwards holds the advantage by a single point, and there’s everything to play for come September 29.

The last time a WSB championship was settled at the last round was Sugo, 1998 when Foggy’s rivals melted under the gaze of his lazer stare. Troy Corser was ruled out after crashing in warm-up and Aaron Slight’s challenge faded in the first race.
