Chambon takes Supersport Victory

1 of 1

Stephane Chambon led from start-to-finish to take a commanding World Supersport victory at Brands Hatch.

The Suzuki rider posted the fastest lap on his way to building up a 7.045 second lead at the flag.

Behind him drama unfolded as ex-GP rider Jurgen van den Goorbergh won a tight battle with Frenchman Stephane Charpentier. Another duel took place for fourth and fifth, with Fabian Foret eventually losing out to Karl Muggeridge.

Behind them, four riders fought for sixth to ninth place. Chris Vermeulen eventually came out on top, in front of battling teammates Christian Kellner and Jorg teuchert, and Katsuaki Fujiwara.

Ian MacPherson finished in eleventh, with Tom Sykes getting a good twelfth place.

The race was red-flagged on the last lap, after Cruciani crashed his Kawasaki. As yet there is no official word as to why the race had to be stopped at such a late stage.

We’ll have more news as we get it.
