WSB Ducati first test day

The Ducati Xerox team has started testing in Spain after the grand unveiling of their 2005 bikes at the Ducati factory on Thursday February 3.

The first day of testing took place on Monday at a wet Valencia circuit with Regis Laconi and James Toseland being acclimatised to the 2005 Ducati 999 F05 factory bikes. Laconi completed 45 laps with a best time of 1 minute 41.3s, while Toseland managed 40 laps and a best of 1 minute 43.6s,

“It’s disapointing because I was looking forward to this test before going to Qatar,” said Toseland. ” We haven’t been able to do much all day, the track dried up a bit but it was intermediates to slicks and we didn’t get a good run today.

“Tomorrow if it’s dry I’ll be OK and will be able to push and do some decent lap times. I just don’t want to go away feeling it’s a bit of a waste of time because of the weather. I feel ready and the bike’s ready but we’ve still got to test everything. It’s just a case of having more time to do some more laps.”
