Toseland tests Ten Kate

James Toseland’s first taste of his 2006 works Honda FireBlade has been lashed by rain on today, as the 2004 World Superbike champ tested at Valencia in Spain.
The 24-year-old former Ducati man managed just a handful of laps, saying: “It’s so slippy out there that it’s impossible to feel the true power of the bike. Telemetry showed the rear wheel was doing 60mph more than the front down the start straight! We’ve spent a lot of the day setting footrest positions and the like, so it’s not been a waste.”
Returning 2001 champ Troy Bayliss was also due to test his Xerox ducati 999 for the first time, but opted not to ride on Monday to minimize the risk of damaging further his injured wrist.
