Yamaha will stick with current riders Kevin Curtain and Broc Parkes for the 2006 season on the new Yamaha YZF-R76.

The Yamaha Motor Germany squad will again field the two Australians with official support from Yamaha Motor Europe. Ealry production machines have already been provided to the team along with a range of kit parts. The team are now focusing on engine development with Curtain and Parkes scheduled for their first full test in December, 2005.

The all-new Yamaha R6 road bike was unveiled to the public on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at the Paris Show. To see the launch, click here.

Curtain is currently second in the Supersport World Championship, which begins the Imola round on September 30, 2005.

“I’m really excited about next year and I’m honoured to be one of the guys trusted with the development of the new R6,” said Curtain. “It’s an amazing looking bike and I believe we can make a challenge for the title.”

“I’m really happy with the team and the deciding factor in me staying was seeing the new bike we’ll have. It looks really good. I just want to end the season with two good results so that we can start the development work of our new toy on a high,” said Parkes.
