Le Mans qualifying

1 of 1

The Yamaha GMT94 team has taken pole for the Le Mans 24-hour World Endurance race which takes place on Satruday, April 22, 2006.

Team Rider Sebastien Gimbert posted a time of 1:38.174 to put them on pole from the Suzuki Castrol Team 1 with Matthieu Lagrive and Yamaha Austria. Gimbert’s team-mates are former MotoGP stars Garry McCoy and David Checa. The British Yamaha Phase One Endurance squad were tenth fastest with Warwick Nowland’s time of 1:41.249, while MCN-backed Diablo 666 have again suffered bad luck. After claiming eight at the first round at Assen with just fifth and sixth gears left in the gearbox, they came to Le Mans and fixed their number one bike, only for Alex Cudlin to crash during his first ever night practice.
