Hodgson third fastest

Neil Hodgson has gone third fastest after the first two practice sessions for the 2006 AMA championship opener at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday.

Hodgson set his fastest time of 1:38.834 during the morning practice session and was second quickest, but dropped to third after he was caught out by a shortened afternoon session. Team-mate Ben Bostrom was eight quickest.

“This morning was really good,” said Hodgson. “In the afternoon, we were trying some new things and had a little problem with the bike which cost us some time. Our best lap time wasn’t as impressive as we lost some track time. it’s not that big a deal, though. I know where I’m going around here and I think I could lap this place with my eyes closed. We’ve made progress.”
