New Alstare Suzuki Corona Extra rider Max Biaggi set the fastest time at this week’s two-day World Superbike test at Valencia in Spain.

The Italian recorded a time of 1:33.9 with team mate Yukio Kagayama close behind in third.

Suzuki’s two riders spent the testing time learning about their brand new GSX-R1000.

Biaggi said: “Valencia is a very twisty track and there is not much opportunity to catch your breath because you are always working hard.

“The chicanes seem to just come one after another and although it is not my favourite track, I enjoyed trying to make the bike work with me round it.”

Conditions were near perfect during the two day test with other WSBK top runners including Troy Bayliss, Lorenzo Lanzi, James Toseland, Robbie Rolfo, Troy Corser and Noriyuki Haga also taking to the track.
