Macau celebrates 40th

The 40th Macau Grand prix takes place this weekend, and this year’s GP promises to be fiercer than ever.

In his final ride on the Stobart Honda Rutter is aiming to break the record of six Macau victories held by himself and race legend Ron Haslam. But he faces some tough competition.

Within Paul Bird’s four-man Stobart Honda team are: 2001 Macau GP winner and TT hero John McGuinness, 2006 roads sensation Ian Hutchinson and former British and World Supersport star Stuart Easton.

Also in the line-up are Aussie Cameron Donald, a two-time winner of the 600cc Supersport class at Macau, Brits Steve Plater and Guy Martin on AIM Yamaha R1s, Martin Finnegan on a Solent Scientific Honda plus America stars Mark Miller and Jeremy Toye who performed so well in their rookie year at the TT in June.
