Corser moves to Yamaha

1 of 1

Troy Corser has signed for the Yamaha Italia team in WSB after being dropped by the Alstare Suzuki squad last week. Corser will line-up alongside rival Noriyuki Haga in what will be a Yamaha dream team onboard the all new 2007 Yamaha R1. Corser who won the 2005 WSB crown has made a disastrous title defence this season and currently lies 6th the championship standings, but that hasn’t stopped him securing a factory ride.
The big loser in Corser’s shock signing with Yamaha is Andrew Pitt. Pitt has done a brilliant job in 2006, taking Yamaha’s first win along with numerous podiums. He currently lies fourth in the championship and despite playing a significant role in the development of the Yamaha R1 it’s not enough for him to keep his job.
For reaction to the signing that has shocked the WSB paddock and the real reason Pitt is out of a job check out MCN on Wednesday 11 October.
