Wins for JT and Yukio

Troy Bayliss failed in his attempt to wrap up the World Superbike title early after conceding the Lausitz Ring races to Yukio Kagayama and James Toseland.

Bayliss look like he was going to take the win in the first race but slid out of the lead. He managed to rejoin in seventh but ran wide again in his attempt to get back to the front.

Bayliss’ misfortune left the way clear for Yukio Kagayama to push for the win after battling with Noriyuki Haga.

James Toseland finished a disappointing ninth in the first race leaving the championship wide open.

Race two saw both Toseland and Bayliss making up for lost time. But Toseland was the most successful, leading the race from first to last lap.

Nori Haga worked hard to take the lead away from Toseland, shadowing him for most of the race but he couldn’t make it stick and had to settle for second place, less than half a second behind Toseland.

Bayliss put on a good show to fight for the lead but had to slow down at the end of the race, eventually finishing almost three seconds down on Toseland.
