Pitt waiting as Supersport regulars fight fitness

Supersport front runners Sebastian Charpentier, Kevin Curtain and Broc Parkes are all fighting to be fit to race at Valencia this weekend after braking bones less than two weeks ago at Donington Park.

Reigning world champion, Charpentier remains the most unlikely to race after cracking a bone in his groin.

Initial diagnosis at the track also revealed that he had dislodged the plate holding his collarbone together, but further investigation revealed that his collarbone was intact.

Since the crash in Friday’s Free Practice at Donington, the Frenchman flew home to Paris where he has been undergoing intensive treatment by his own doctors in an effort to be fit for Valencia.

Yamaha men Broc Parkes and Kevin Curtain both broke their collarbones at the same corner in the same session at Donington on the wet track.

Both men received treatment by a specialist in Barcelona and both men intend to be racing at Valencia with plated and pinned collarbones.

Whilst the three men concentrate on getting fit, MCN has learned that both Yamaha and Honda have contacted out of work Andrew Pitt as a possible replacement rider for this weekends race.

At time of writing it is unclear that Pitt will be needed by either team. He will wait to find out whether he is needed or not before flying to Valencia.
