Starts must improve says Max

Max Biaggi has admitted he needs to get up to speed faster at the beginning of World Superbike races.

The four-time GP world champion has repeatedly been able to get off the line with lightning speed in the four WSB races he has so far competed in, but found himself lose the advantage within a few corners.

Fans have already got used to him stalking rivals once he gets heat in his tyres, which makes for great racing action, but Biaggi says it’s something he doesn’t want to keep having to do.

He said: “My starts have been OK but I need to find some more speed with a new tyre which is what Bayliss and Toseland have. My Suzuki is at the same level as the Honda and Ducati and I believe we can race with them at every track.”
