Toseland confident for Silverstone

James Toseland believes despite Ducati historically dominating at the Silverstone circuit, he now has the package capable of winning in next weekends WSB round.

For the last two years the Ducati 999 has been dominant in the hands of Troy Bayliss in 2006 and in 2005 Regis Laconi and Toseland himself.

Ducati’s success was put down to their impressive traction control which helped them get out of the slow speed final chicane and their sweet handling chassis which made light work of the complex.

For 2007 Honda and Yamaha have caught up and Toseland will be desperate to get back to his winning ways and maintain control at the top of the championship.

Toseland said: “I’m not worried about Ducati’s form because we’ve got a really strong package now. Last year I started from 14th on the grid due to the wet Superpole but managed to get two thirds so I’ve always gone well there.

“As for my main rivals there are three guys – Bayliss, Biaggi and Haga. I think it’s these three riders that I’m going to battling with.

“Corser will be back on it soon and I’m not sure why he wasn’t fast in Monza, maybe it’s a result of his injury at Assen or maybe he’s just lost a bit of confidence.”
