Polita to Partner Byrne in WSB

Alessandro Polita will partner Shane Byrne in next years World Superbike Championship.

The Itailian already rides for the Sterilgarda team as part of their Superstock outfit and currently lies second in the championship with one round remaining at Portimaio.

Polita took the European Superstock title back in 2006 before moving up to the World Superbike Championship in 2007. The Italian struggled on uncompetetive machinery all season and also broke his collerbone at the Donington Park round.

In signing the 23-year-old Italian to partner Byrne, team manager Marco Borciani has put together a team with both youth and experience. Both riders will test the new Ducati F09 1098 just a week after the season finale in Portugal.
