Xaus: “Spies is on fire”

BMW man Ruben Xaus has praised WSB rookie Ben Spies ahead of this weekends third round of the championship at Valencia.

The Spanish WSB veteran remains confident in the potential of his own BMW S1000RR, but is seriously impressed with the factory Yamaha riders performance and his three race wins from four starts.

He said: “Things are going really well in my own team but we need to improve as soon as possible because Spies is on fire.

“The Yamaha has a new engine and Ben is riding on new tracks, new tyres and in a new championship where as we’ve all been racing here for ages. He’s arrived and he is winning easy.

We are trying our best and I am really proud of what we have achieved at BMW. We have solved a few things and for sure I will always give 100%.”
