WSB star Leon Haslam won’t be making his WSB Alstare Suzuki debut until next year but he will be making his Suzuki debut this Sunday at Mallory Park – in the British Rallycross Championship.

Haslam is driving a Suzuki Swift after a recent PR event when he linked up with members of the Bill Gwynn rally school.

They were so impressed with his driving ability that they invited him to take part in this, the final round of the British Rallycross Championship!

Haslam said: “I’m over the moon with this new opportunity. I think it will be really good fun. I was down in Banbury doing a PR event and playing around in some buggies when I was asked to take part in the rallycross.

“I was delighted to be given the chance. It’s something new and different for me and it’s at Mallory Park which is right on my door step.”

Haslam will race on the newly-built Mallory rallycross track in his British Championship debut against the sport’s top drivers in a discipline that incorporates both tarmac and off-road elements.

Mallory General Manager, John Ward said: “I’m really pleased that Leon is joining us. It is a good crossover of disciplines and will bring in some interest from the bike world too.

“I image he is pretty handy in a car so I don’t think he will let the side down.”
