Sykes in medical centre following free practice crash

Tom Sykes has been taken to the medical centre following a second lap crash during first free practice this afternoon.

The factory Yamaha man high sided his Yamaha R1 exiting the final corner and has been taken to the medical centre for x-rays to his right foot and ankle.

Even before the crash numerous riders returned back to the pits without completing a full lap complaining of a lack of grip.

Speaking to MCN, Leon Haslam said: “Tom’s crash looked like a big one and I’m not surprised. The track is dirty because there is no grip anywhere.

“I followed Johnny (Rea) and every time he got on the gas he was out the seat.”
