Ten Kate Honda World Supersport contender Kenan Sofuoglu faces a battle to be fit for the scheduled three day test at Portimao in 17 days time after breaking his ankle riding a motocross bike.

The 2007 World Supersport champion sustained the injury last week when he severely twisted his left foot when he was out training onboard his motocross bike.

He said: “I was just riding in the hills because we don’t really have motocross tracks here.

“The doctors said it would normally require six weeks in plaster but I am sure it can be faster than that. Unfortunately, it is my left ankle, which is my gear change foot”

“We had a good test at Valencia in December and it’s very important for the 2010 season that we get some more testing time before the season begins, so I will be working really, really hard to be fit for the test.”
