Following his testing crash at Imola and subsequent surgery in Italy, Joan Lascorz has been transferred to the Valle Hebron hospital in Barcelona.

The 27 year old Spaniard was operated after the crash on Monday to relocate his C6 vertebra. It remains unclear the extent of any neurological damage and this will not be known until the swelling around the affected area reduces.

Lascorz crashed his factory Kawasaki ZX-10R in the final minutes of the opening test session at Imola on Monday.

The Spanish rider was on his out lap, but it remains unclear exactly what happened other than he ran off the track and hit the wall which runs almost parallel to the track at the point of the crash.
