Aragon WSB: Biaggi makes ominous start to top first session

World Superbike championship leader Max Biaggi made an ominous start to the Aragon race weekend by setting the fastest time in the opening Free Practice session at Aragon.

Biaggi, traditionally a slow starter spent the majority of the session leading and finished the 45 minute session with a best lap of 1.58.837.

Kawasaki man Tom Sykes made a strong start to end the session second fastest after edging out Eugene Laverty in the final minutes.

Chaz Davies showed impressive pace ending the session in fourth making it three Aprilia RSV4’s in the top four.

British riders Leon Camier and Leon Haslam finished seventh and eighth respectively.

The top ten all tested at the Aragon circuit last week for two days.

Honda man Jonathan Rea completed his first ever laps at race speed this morning having missed last years race due to injury. He finished 15th fastest.
