Video: How to build Honda Fireblade World Superbike

Honda Pro Racing have released a new video looking into the complex world of developing a competitive World Superbike.

Featuring insights from Honda World Superbike Operations Manager, Chris Pike, as well as Dino Acocella, who works in chassis development for the team, the video divulges information on such topics as engine tuning, geometry and weight reduction.

Speaking in the short film, Operations Manager Pike says: “The roadbike itself is known for its agility and smooth engine character. 

“When we tune the engine, we push the power further up into the rev range. The SP2 production engine produces 189bhp at 13,000rpm and by the time we’ve finished tuning, we have over 220bhp at 14,300rpm.”
