WSB: Rea 're-charged' ahead of Misano

1 of 1

Jonathan Rea hopes to strengthen his lead in the 2018 World Superbike Championship as the paddock heads to the Misano Marco Simoncelli Circuit this weekend.

After two consecutive race wins at the GEICO US round, Rea looks to continue his flying form and success he has had for the past three years as he looks towards his goal of being World Superbike Champion for the fourth time within four years. Despite being linked to multiple MotoGP teams, Rea finally signed for the Kawasaki Racing Team during the Brno weekend and admits he feels ‘recharged for the last race before the summer break’.

Last time out in Misano, Rea found himself with two rostrum results but looks to better it as the series returns to Italy.

“Misano is one of my favourite races of the season and this year we planned a holiday before the race with my family, staying on the beach with our motor home” he said. “It sets the weekend up perfectly as I feel recharged for the last race before the summer break.”

“Although it’s flat, it’s still a challenge to find a compromise with set up, so we will work hard on Friday to make sure we can be competitive. It’s important to strengthen our position in the championship. Our target is to keep working the way we have in the previous races and maximise our potential.”
