  • YAMAHA TRACER 7 (2025-on)

    MCN rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

Numerous subtle updates gives the Tracer its very best performance fun factor yet

  • BMW R1300R (2025-on)

    MCN rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

BMW’s clever new variable rate spring tech works well and perhaps overkill on a humble roadster, but it could easily transform a sports tourer or superbike

  • BMW R12GS (2025-on)

    MCN rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

Whether you’re cruising to the coffee shop, enjoying a B-road or trampling down a green lane, the R12 G/S never fails to make you smile

  • BMW R1300RT (2025-on)

    MCN rating
    5 out of 5 (5/5)

BMW’s R1250RT has been an MCN Award winner for the past gazillion years, but it’s finally been knocked off its perch… by its replacement: the 2025 R1300RT

  • DUCATI XDIAVEL V4 (2025-on)

    MCN rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

It’s clearly a niche machine, but well-heeled riders who crave a mix of muscular styling, a laid-back riding position and superbike performance won’t be disappointed

  • BMW R1250RS (2019-on)

    Overall owners' rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

Effortless sports touring. The RS is used for a couple of long tours every year and has performed effortlessly. It's surprisingly easy to ride at low speed due to the weight distribution. Excellent fuel economy on a steady trip.

  • MOTO-GUZZI V85 TT (2024-on)

    Overall owners' rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

Very comfortable mile muncher, Could use a few more ponies up top. Some say it's like a mid eighties bmw with a little more poke, which I agree with

  • HONDA ST1300 PAN EUROPEAN (2002-2018)

    Overall owners' rating
    5 out of 5 (5/5)

Had an ST1100 first 2001 model, loved the bike great handling then decided to go for the ST1300 2002 model again another fantastic bike then went over to the FJR’s, automatic and clutch models now in 2025 back on a 2010 ST1300, £3k 66,000 miles, had to put a new radiator on myself, take the full...

  • HONDA CB1000R Black Edition (2021-2024)

    Overall owners' rating
    5 out of 5 (5/5)

For me, the perfect all around motorcycle. I love the handling, confort, engine and although a cliche how superbly 'Honda' it feels. It is perfect for commuting, touring and hurtling around with my pants on fire. It could do with cruise and an outude temp guage but I wouldn't add anything...

  • BMW R1250RT (2019-2024)

    Overall owners' rating
    5 out of 5 (5/5)

This is the pinnacle of boxer engine and touring bike development. It's a fabulous bike which you can ride like a hooligan or the local priest or anybody in-between.

  • BMW R1100R (1995-2003)

    Overall owners' rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

A great standard road bike from the blue & white roundel, and an especially solid choice now as a "vintage" machine. A little bit more poly than I liked at the time it was released ... but that amount is practically nothing compared to the bikes of 2025.

  • MOTO-GUZZI V85 TT (2019-2023)

    Overall owners' rating
    4 out of 5 (4/5)

After 7 years of ownership I fancied a change from my Tracer MT09 (something a bit softer). After test riding various bikes I was going to get a vstrom DE800 (excellent machine) but I'd always liked the look of the V85TT so before I splashed the cash I managed to get a test ride from Downend...
