LiveWire reveal charming electric minibike concepts at recent Harley-Davidson festival in Milwaukee

Harley-Davidson’s electric spin-off LiveWire have pulled the covers off two lightweight concept bikes at the firm’s Homecoming Festival in Milwaukee, hinting at a fresh, affordable platform aimed at new riders.

The two small-capacity machines – a 125cc-equivalent retro supermoto and an off-road-styled scrambler – are powered by twin swappable batteries and claim up to 100 miles of range, 0-30mph in three seconds, and a top whack of 53mph.

Still in development, the pair appear to be built around a tubular trellis frame with the motor used as a stressed member.

Away from the difference in styling, the bikes share inverted forks and a rear monoshock suspension setup. Braking comes from Kymco hardware, tasked with restraining tiny 12-inch wheels on each machine – shod with Mitas rubber for the street bike and Shinko knobblies for the trailie.

In a bid to drum up interest, LiveWire is seeking public input on the bikes in areas like styling and accessories.

Pricing, as you’d expect, is yet to be announced, but they’ll both presumably be marketed far below the firm’s £17,000-on S2 range
