Honda's new CUV e is the second urban electric motorcycle from the brand to arrive in Europe

Honda have pulled the wraps off the CUV e – their second electric scooter for European markets, following on from the EM1 e launched last year.

The new model forms part of the firm’s wider plan to launch at least 10 electric two-wheelers globally by the end of this year.

The CUV e uses a 6kW side-mounted motor and two removable 50.3V lithium-ion batteries to deliver a claimed top speed of 52mph and
a range of 43.5 miles.

Charging both batteries from 0-100% takes around six hours, with 25-75% possible in under three. Riders can select from three modes – Econ, Standard, and Sport – and Honda have added a Reverse Assist function for low-speed manoeuvring.

The scooter will be available in two versions, with base models receiving a five-inch TFT dash and higher-spec ‘Connected’ versions featuring a seven-inch display with smartphone connectivity included, offering turn-by-turn navigation with EV-specific route planning, music control and call handling.
