Storm Stacey will remain with the GR Motosport team for a fourth consecutive Bennetts British Superbike Championship campaign.

The 19-year-old, who first joined the team in the Superstock 600 class, narrowly missed out on becoming BSB’s youngest-ever debutant in 2020 by a matter of weeks due to the delayed start to the season.

Since then, Stacey has scored points in each of his three Superbike campaigns. Stacey ended 2022 18th overall with a total of 38 points, recording a best result of ninth in race one at Knockhill. Towards the end of his campaign, Stacey was battling just outside of the top 10, finishing 11th in two races at Oulton Park, as well as 12th at Donington.

“I am super pleased to have signed with GR Motosport again as there are a few changes going into the new season and I am excited about that,” Stacey said. “It should be a good year and I think that the door is open for us to aim for the top ten and pinch a few top fives!

“I am looking forward to getting back to the tracks and seeing the BSB fans again as it is never the same over the winter!”

Meanwhile, Joe Francis stays with GR Motosport in the Superstock class. Francis scored a best result of seventh at Snetterton last season, finishing 14th overall. Francis finished inside the top 10 on six occasions.

“I’m very happy to be continuing with GR Motosport and the STAUFF Fluid Power Kawasaki for the 2023 Superstock season,” Francis said. “I am looking forward to putting all of the hard work from last season together so that we can hit the ground running for round one.

“Testing can’t come quick enough! It’s a great opportunity and I am thankful to Brent and everyone for believing in me.”

The first official BSB pre-season test takes place at Navarra, Spain, on March 11-13. This is followed by two days at Donington Park (March 25-26) and two days at Silverstone (March 28-29). The 2023 season gets underway at Silverstone on April 7-9.

Team Owner Brent Gladwin concluded: “We are excited about 2023 so it’s really good to be able to continue with Storm and Joe, as both riders have great potential with the Team for the coming season. We do have quite a few new changes happening which will be revealed shortly, but importantly for the moment I am pleased to say that STAUFF Fluid Power will continue their title partnership of the Superstock team into a brilliant tenth season.

“Watch this space, as I am really looking forward to unveiling the new and celebratory liveries for 2023 to you all very soon.”
