Video: MCN's Yamaha SR500 cafe racer project running

MCN designer Simon Relph bought this rust bucket 1979 Yamaha SR500 at the beginning of the year for just £50 with the aim of turning the bike in to a cool cafe racer.

Now, after plenty of hard graft the SR500 cafe racer project is complete. Watch the video below to hear the bike running.

Sweet bike!

I like the racing bikes, such as this one, a lot. Racing my dirt bike and training my jiu jitsu are my two hobbies. I race on the weekends and train at Marcello's Indianapolis BJJ Training Academy during the week. The sports of racing and MMA really help to keep me in shape and get my blood flowing!

I'm missing the point here because there are a lot better singles out there than the SR. And if you spent close to £3K which I suspect you did you could have bought something quite special.

lose the silencer and go for something straight through with absorption baffling (think Akrapovic). That plate over the end style always sounds and goes like crap.
