BMW S1000RR - Cadwell MRO Stocksport 1000 preview

The next round of the MRO Stocksport 1000 championship is looming I’ll be racing at the magnificent Cadwell Park this weekend.

This will be the first time Vari-Trac BMW Park Lane team has been to the Lincolnshire circuit with the S1000RR and will be my first ever visit here on the German-built rocketship. I can’t wait.

It’s bee an up-and-down few weeks for the team. My team-mate Stefan Cappella broke his ankle in a start line incident (but miraculously managed to ride in the next race!), he’s had it pinned, but won’t be making Cadwell this weekend.

He’ll be back on the bike doing some trackdays by the end of the month and hopes to be racing before the end of the season.

The team were out last weekend at Brands in the ultra-competitive Metzeler National Superstock 1000 championship with Steve Mercer.

Despite qualifying down in 24th, he just missed out on a top ten and battled through to a stunning 11th place.

Steve’s racing at the Ulster GP this weekend on his R1 superbike, so best of luck to the ‘Merc’.

I’ll be on track tomorrow for free practice, then qualifying and racing on Saturday and Sunday. Come and say hello if you’re around!
