2011 Suzuki GSX-R750 - full review

i love the gsxr 750 it is truely one of the best bikes that have ever been produced,

i have owned and ridden every 750 in the past 12 years and owned every 1000 gixer to date

the past decade has been good with Gsxr, but unfortunately the other manufactuers are building better bikes now

the 750 used to make a lot of sense sitting perfectly between a breathless 600 to and a heavy almost over powered 1000 that is until Honda built the lastest fireblade (08 onwards ) Hrc assisted, which to me beats the 750 in every respect and renders the 750 pointless

a side from the fact the new 600/ 750 has taken a back step styling wise even from the latest 1000, and that neevsey even got brake fade on brembos, ehich tells you pretty much that they are not real brembos

the biggest problem i have with lastest gixers is the suspention which for me renders the latest generation gsxr's unfit for purpose, the gsxr frame and suspention on the road foll0wing a group of mates on fireblades nearly rattled my teeth out on kent bumpy roads, big piston forks my cut the mustard on the track but on kents roads they are a nightmare, normally what suzuki do to the 1000 they do to the 600/750 so i think suzuki might just have ruined the best bike they have ever made

i have to once again have to point out how far ahead honda cbr range are now with their road bikes, four years since the blade was introduced and still the best bike for the road and track if you forget about the way over hyped bmw cok bike

a friend of mine went to portimao on a gsxr 1000 on a track day last may the instructors told him he needed to back off the suspention before he even attempted to go on track imagine that

for the first time in 10 +years i will not buy the latest gsxr because their are much better bikes out there now

and the gsxr is no longer the great road bike it used to be, i must tip my hat to honda on that one

some people have critisied me for having an opinion, and i do applogise to my local dealer who are a fantastic family business and if you ever want to a bike go to them because they are a great dealer suzuki aprillia etc in kent

as for my comments, they stand as i am entilted to my opinion and this is a forum after all, in the last 12 years i put my money where my mouth is where suzuki is concerned, unlike the people who have been critical of me, ironically theese poeple have spent no time in the saddle of a gixer of their own so what do they no

save your £10k go buy an 08 firblade for £6500 it will be a better bike road and track

why do people care about looks so much? its all about the ride!
