‘Ride Aid’ to help cancer patients

Seven riders on Buell Ulysses’ are taking part in a “gruelling” trip to raise £25,000 for a Newcastle hospital.

The Newcastle Harley-Davidson and Buell dealership has arranged the journey which departs on the 23rd of October.

They will ride from Newcastle to Land’s End before reaching John O’Groats on Sunday.

Their fund-raising target is £25,000 to purchase an RVI scanner for the Royal Victoria Infirmary, to help patients with breast cancer. The hospital’s current scanner is broken.

Professional Geordie and 5-Live Reporter Lynsey Hipgrave plus husband Dan, guitarist for rock-band Toploader, have already pledged their support.

All seven are riding 1203cc Buell Ulysses XB12X’s, accompanied by two officers from Cleveland Police, one riding the Ulysses and one on a Harley-Davidson Road King.
