Goodwood is go!

1 of 2

I’ve just arrived at the Goodwood Festival of Speed having ridden down on our group test winning BMW K1300GT and very nice it was too.

It was comfy on the motorways and easy with the cruise control, whilst being fun on the twisty roads on the final run into Goodwood.

Yesterday was set up day for the Festival of Speed, one of the best motorsport events on the calendar and I will be riding a classic 1950s BMW Kompressor and my MRO Stocksport Vari-Trac BMW Park Lane S1000RR up the famous Goodwood hill-climb on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

There are lots of famous motorcycling names taking part this year including Kevin Schwantz on his Lucky Strike RGV500 GP bike, Aaron Slight on his factory Castrol Honda RC45, Phil Read Senior and Giacomo Agostini on their MV race bikes, Freddie Sheene riding the Icon Sheene, plus many more.

Unbelievably, Guy Martin is here riding his Honda CBR600RR TT bike and this will be the first time he will have ridden since his horrendous crash at the Isle of Man TT last month.

There are still tickets available for the weekend but you can not turn up and buy them on the day, instead you need to ring the Goodwood ticket hotline on 01243 755055 for more information.
