Campers robbed at Triumph Live

Campers at last weekend’s Triumph Live event at Mallory Park were hit by a spate of thefts, with Leicestershire police receiving reports of 15 separate incidents.

A police spokesman said:

“We had several reports of theft at Mallory Park on Saturday. Cash, a bike, mobile phones and even lager were among the items taken. They were all logged as Saturday 18 September, but they may have occurred overnight. They are all currently under investigation. If anyone has any information about the incidents they should contact Leicestershire police.”

MCN reader Ducan Wright, 53, from Badford had £370 stolen, while fellow biker Philip Drake lost around £210.

Drake told MCN: “At about 3am my wife noticed the money was missing. My friend had been robbed too and his tent was in disarray. I found a blackberry phone just dropped on the ground, which must have been left by the thieves.”

Mallory Park General Manager John Ward said: “There was a police presence from around 4am on the Saturday, as well as more security staff as it was the busier of the two days. On Saturday there were no incidents reported at all.”
