Riding to work and stopped for a red light. Seems the car behind had much poorer brakes and the one behind had no brakes!

red lights
I think a lot of drivers break the red light rule. It seems normal now for at least two cages to drive through rather than stop.
What we forget is that from green it goes to amber and AMBER means STOP. NOT SLOW TO STOP ON RED.
So anyone who fails to stop on amber actually commits an offence unless it can be shown that by stopping one would create a greater danger. And the AMBER light is on for 3 seconds so we really have no excuse do we.

Don't expect cars to observe lane discipline and don't expect cars to www.prozacdosage.net overtake on the outside, even if they have to use the hard shoulder. Don't expect cars to observe minimum safe distance in any maneuver.

And then again...
A couple of months' back, I was waiting for the lights to go green on the handy-cross roundabout, I was on the A404 out of High Wycombe.
My lights go green, I move forward when my attention is caught by an old boy (even older than me) in a courier van, having quietly driven through the red on the roundabout, making his way to the London-bound M40 quite oblivious to the traffic and the state of the traffic lights.
No sense in trying to ride through him, so I slowed almost to a stop. Somebody in a car behind me starts hooting.
I think my advice is, don't expect cars to stop at traffic lights, even if they have been red for some time. Don't expect cars to occupy the right hand lane on a roundabout when intending to turn right. Don't expect cars to observe lane discpline and don't expect cars to overtake on the outside, even if they have to use the hard shoulder. Don't expect cars to observe minimum safe distance in any maneouver. Don't expect the police to care about the standard of car driving we encounter every day, they're too busy chasing the CPO's targets. Be watchful, be trained and listen to your senses. Safety before speed.

And this is why...
...red lights should be linked to Gattling guns. :)
Did you report them? It's all well and good moanding about it on the Interwebs, but unless someone informs the rozzers, they don't know about it.

Are you sure the first one even tried to slow down?
They sure didn't look like it.
