MCN exclusive on new Norton V4 TT racer

1 of 1

Norton is putting the finishing touches to the latest V4 race it will contest the 2013 Isle of Man TT in just three weeks with virtually every part of the bike new for this year.

The team hope the unsilenced, 200bhp monster with two riders for this year will be enough to bring some credible results for the team with Ian Mackman who raced the bike last year and new recruit Dan Hegarty.

This year’s event is the second time the iconic British brand will compete with a bike with a 1000cc V4 engine, essentially an Aprilia RSV4 superbike engine, with the 2012 event used as a test and data gathering process.

The new SG2 model has a host of modifications over the first generation SG1; with all of the changes gleaned from the huge learning curve the team experienced in last year’s event.

An MCN exclusive detailing the story behind the bike, full technical details and action video will be in the May 8 issue of the paper and online next week.
