New Aprilia Tuono V4R reaction

Aprilia’s new Tuono V4R was eagerly anticipated by existing Tuono RSV1000 owners who have been waiting two years for the new V4 – many of them saw it for the first time at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live this week.

The new Tuono takes the chassis and 1000cc V4 engine from the World Superbike title-winning RSV4 superbike with a little retuning for the naked bike package.

Richard Marshall, 46, from Abingdon owns a Aprilia Tuono RSV1000 Factory and the new bike was the most important at the show for him.

He said: “I’ve been waiting for this bike for a long time and I only ended up buying my Tuono last year because this bike wasn’t available. I have to say I’m not a fan of the colour and it doesn’t seem as well finished as my bike but I know once I test ride one I may well be buying one.”

Honda Fireblade owner and wife Sue wasn’t so impressed. She said: “I don’t like the way it looks at all but I know if he wants one, he will go and buy one.”
