Buell 1125CR is biggest selling 1000cc+ motorcycle in December

Defunct American motorcycle manufacturer Buell’s attempts to sell remaining stock is working – the 1125CR was the UK’s biggest selling 1000cc plus machine in November!

Admittedly that accolade was achieved with only 44 sales, but compared to lacklustre sales that typified Harley-Davidson’s sporting off-shoot, it’s a great achievement enabled by serious discounts as dealer frantically try to sell off remaining stock.

Triumph‘s Tiger 1050 topped the popular adventure sport category with 34 sales in November 2009, and Yamaha‘s funky learner sportsbike YZF-R125 topped the sports category with 133 sales.

The Yamaha YBR125 was the biggest selling bike overall, with 144 motorcycles sold in the month. Top tourer was the BMW R1200RT, selling 36 bikes. The figures from the Motorcycle Industry Association revealed a bleak picture – year-to-date motorcycle sales were down 19.7% in comparison with the same period in 2008.
