Yamaha Super Tenere Worldcrosser GS Adventure rival is go!

1 of 1

The Worldcrosser version of the XT1200Z Super Tenere, first shown as a concept bike at the Cologne Show last year, will go on sale next March, Yamaha has announced.

Like BMW’s Adventure compared to the standard GS, the Worldcrosser is essentially a more rugged, off-road oriented version of the Super Ten, in a similar way BMW’s designed ‘for today’s globetrotting explorers who want to fulfill their dreams’ according to Yamaha.

The new model boasts lightweight carbon-fibre side panels, fork protectors and frame guards plus black anodized aluminium skid plate, drive shaft shield and rear brake guard for extra protection off road. It also has special badging and will be available in either blue, black/gold or red.

All of these components are supplied as a ‘Worldcrosser kit’ which is fitted by the dealer to the standard Super Tenere.

There will also be a Worldcrosser ‘R’ version which comes with a lightweight titanium Akrapovic exhaust, carbon fibre heat shield, fog lights and LED indicators.

No UK prices have yet been announced although in Europe it will be €15,690 (around £13,440). The standard Super Tenere is now £11,999.
