New Suzuki V-Strom 650 adventure bike teaser pics

1 of 3

Suzuki has let out two more tantalising images of its new adventure bike, the all-new V-Strom 650. The illustrations are scarcely more informative than the Sound of Music-style mountain scene in the first release, but their drip-drip release at least shows how excited Suzuki is about the new bike. Which in turn leads us to expect more than a refresh of the capable but aged DL650.

The current bike has been around since 2004 and been a consistently good seller – 426 sold in the UK alone last year. But when Triumph has sold 700 of its new Tiger 800 models in the first four months of 2011 there’s clearly head-room for a renewed Suzuki adventure middleweight.

Expect a re-tuned Gladius motor, beefier brakes and more aggressive styling when the bike breaks cover properly in the coming weeks. ‘Time for real adventure’ is a slogan accompanying the teaser pics in some countries, which certainly hints at a more focused dual-purpose machine than the current DL.

At the request of Julie Andrews’ lawyers we would like to point out the third of these images is MCN’s highly amusing work. While she is interested in the forthcoming new bike, she is not yet ready to endorse it until the full spec is released.
