New bikes

BMW’s significantly updated S1000RR is currently being tested at its world launch at Valencia, Spain. Senior Road Tester, Adam Child, is there on behalf of MCN and has just completed his third session. These are his first impressions.
"The first two sessions were in race mode, which is much improved over the old bike. On the old bike the race mode traction control setting was far too intrusive and mechanical for the track but now it’s far less intrusive and gives the rider more feel of what is happening. It was perfect in the cold temperatures this morning. I’ve now just done one session in ‘slick mode’, which again is a huge improvement over the old bike."

bimer test
way did this bike get an update according to mcn it was already perfect
sick of hearing about the bimer its boring
its a good bike dont get me wrong
but the basic bike is not a great bike WSB tells you that in race trim with the biggest budget it could not buy a podium in 2011
mcn keep telling you stop overhyping this bike
in the paper this week you say the bimers rivals shoud be shaking in our boots, this is bullshit to get mugs parting with their money and getting punters on bimers
the zx10 2011 is an amazing improvement over older models but kwaka not being over hyped
potential buyers its not that special plus the jap bikes do not need restricting while running like the bimer as the japs know they are bulletproof
mcn we are not all daft
neevsey riding for bimer what a suprise, park lane bimer at that they wont be short of a few quid to help his cause that is for sure
you need to be more inpartial, know won says how great the R1 engine is or how brillant the fireblade is or what a good job kwaka have done these are all great road bikes having more success than bimer in race trim
mcn you need to be more impartial, stop taking off comments you dont like as well

itrackday. quoted "I'm surprised BlockPower actually owns one and is still moaning?"
That is such a confusing thing to say and means nothing about my points. i own one yes, I'm not moaning about my bike in the slightest. I'm not moaning about the new bike either. I'm talking about the fact that the BMW marketing parade is out with a few tempters that make people reach into their pockets to buy the latest doodad when it's never ever going to make a blind bit of difference.
I hope you mentioning findings a superbikes limits was meant on the track? I guarantee you have never nor could you find the limits of this bike on the public highway.
Brings me nicely to my point and you have inadvertantly agreed with me here that on the road these updates mean little.
Oh and btw I smile everytime I put my leg over my machine. I am also smiling more knowing that I have not been suckered in to buying a new bike because mine is no less superceeded by BMW's new offering. Some will however want the latest spec and colour scheme. Good for them, I'll keep the few grand thanks.
