MCN's Adam Child is amongst the first journalists in the world to ride the new 2012 BMW S1000RR.

It has a long list of minor revisions that are currently being evaluated and we will be able to give you the full technical detail at 11am.

You need to ride this thing to appreciate just how good it is, possibly the best bike ever built, easily worth the extra cash if u ask me!!!!

I also ride my s1000rr most days to work, having done 19,000 miles in 18 months.

It is extremely useable and not too track focussed at all. There is power available in every gear for overtaking and my journey to work is 1hr 15 minutes instead of over 2hrs in a car. It is also really easy to ride in heavy traffic as the throttle is nice and smooth and not at all snatchy

I am 6'4'' and find the s1000rr quite comfortable and have done quite a few long 4-5 hr journeys this summer.

I ride my 2011 S1000RR to work EVERY day, rain or shine... 17,000 miles in 10 months Mr Pain... I'd say that's EXTREMELY useable... Plus the 14 or so Trackdays I have done on it as well.. BTW I'm 49 years old, so it's nothing to do with age....
