Is this the coolest Yamaha T-Max on the planet?

Maxi scooters generally aren’t the coolest looking vehicles on the road -their masses of plastic making them look like bulbous alien spaceships at best.

This Yamaha T-Max is the creation of German custom builder Marcus Walz, who was asked to ‘hyper-modify’ the T-Max by Yamaha.

Walz opted to strip the big scooter down to reduce weight, boost performance and make it look less bulbous and a little more streamlined.

As a result the T-Max doesn’t look over the top like some customs, instead looking fresh and more aggresive.

Walz said: “With the Hyper Modified T-Max I have tried to keep the bike very clear and recognisable as a T-Max, I didn’t want to create a spaceship out of it!

“I concentrated on keeping the stock lines and optimising every detail while reducing the bike’s weight.

“I have also modified the handlebar area of the bike to give it a radical naked bike image and mounted the mirrors on the end of the bars to give it the impression of a café racer when in town.”

As good as it looks, Walz’ creation may not be the coolest T-Max for long, as custom builders Roland Sands and Ludovic Lazareth are also modifying T-max’s as part of the challenge from Yamaha.
