Ultimate Ducati Panigale is invite only

Ducati has sent out invites to a select list of customers who qualify for the chance to buy the ultimate version of the 1199 Panigale superbike; a 220bhp, 180kg Superleggera version which is comprehensively overhauled.

Little is known about the exact specification of the bike but MCN understands the road bike will be a hybrid stage between the customer specification 1199 Panigale RS superbike racing machine and the current top-spec 1199R.

All Ducati has sent out to potential customers is an overhead image of the unique parts the bike will feature which are laid out on the floor but does say the bike will be a mixture of magnesium, carbon fibre and titanium with just 500 versions being built.

Ducati also claim the bike will have the highest power-to-weight ratio of any production ever seen and MCN understands this will mean around a 180kg kerbweight and nearly 220bhp from the 1200cc V-twin.

From the picture sent out with the personal invitations we can see the list of parts that have been modified include wheels, a magnesium front frame section, carbon fibre bodywork, a new exhaust, along with a completely modified engine to include top and bottom ends, new cylinderheads, pistons, valves, magnesium engine cases with even the brakes and suspension being completely different to the 1199R.
