New colours for the 2008 Yamaha R1 motorcycle

After several shoot-outs the 07 R1 has taken the honours for the 1 litre crown. If there was a catogory for esthetics though, it would of bombed.. the 06 machine, for me, was a far better looking bike, it was balanced and symetrical with no 'oohh, mmm' I'm not sure about that fairing, seat unit. etc. I'm genuinely looking for an excuse to make the transition to a Jap bike after 4 years qn a 998R blinkered contract.. and you know, I was gunning for Rossi all year over Stoner and not just because Stoner's had a Schumaker, its the package..of Rossi on that Fiat Yamaha.. it just looks good, plain and simple. It's as if Rossi has an image consultant not just a coincidence of sponsors colour schemes and a decent bike.. it's alluring, sexy, call it what you like.. it just looks right. And that's all it would of taken, as limp as it may sound, if Yamaha had tweeked that awkward fairing of the 07 R1 and done a Fiat rep for 08 I would of been the first person down at my local dealership with my deposit.

would anyone agree it would look better with gold forks and gold wheels,or would it look like a bit of a tarts handbag.
