Visibility reducing barriers erected in Telford

New barriers that reduce visibility have been erected on a busy roundabout near Telford town centre.

These pictures of the ‘Visibility Curtain’ were sent in by local biker Steve Shaw, who contacted MCN after being outraged by the new installation.

He told MCN: “I was told they’ve been installed to make drivers slow right down before they get to the roundabout to reduce rear end shunts, but it just means you can’t see anything until the last few metres – at 20mph you’ve travelled that in the blink of an eye.

"I’m worried that this could lead to more accidents with motorcyclists with an increased number of motorist pulling out on us or running into the side of us.”
