Donington Park boss: DVLA lost my motorcycle licence

1 of 1

The boss of Donington Park says he had to retake his test after DVLA lost all record of his motorcycle licence.

Simon Gillett – who has 20 years’s riding experience – had to take a last minute test on Friday ahead the British MotoGP round at Donington this weekend.

Failure would have stopped him joining race stars on a ride to the circuit on Thursday to raise money for African aid charity Riders for Health.

“The good news is I passed,” he said.

A DVLA spokesman said he could not comment on individual cases.

Gillett is the latest of scores of motorcyclists to claim DVLA lost their motorcycle licence. Riders say they sent their licence to the agency to have details amended only to get it back with motorcycle entitlement missing.

The DVLA has then claimed to have no record of their ever having held a motorcycle licence.
