The governmet still want to introduce local road pricing schemes

Road pricing plans still in the pipeline

The Government is still pushing ahead with plans to introduce local road pricing schemes, despite massive public opposition to the plans.

The Local Road Transport Bill had its second reading in the House of Commons yesterday, which takes the legislation a step closer to becoming reality.

Opposition parties say the bill is little more than an attempt by the Government to eke more cash out of motorists, while passing the buck of responsibility onto local councils.
