Ride Safe Back Safe - Fairhaven Lake 15th April 2007

The Ridesafe Backsafe group organised amongst their other events, a fantastic day at Fairhaven Lake in St Annes on the 15th of April 2007. The day was extremely hot with an excellent turn out of bikers and bikes of all types.

With plenty going on including an excellent performance of stunts from the Extreme team, Neil Porter and various other performers the day went very well.

Not only did we get entertained by the bike stunts there was a visit from the Mayor and Mayoress of Fylde Borough and Maria Costello, the fastest woman on two wheels around the Isle of Man TT, of which I got a great photo of the three of them at the venue. During the day I took over 300 photos but have been very dissappointed to have not see the event covered in the local rag.

The Ridesafe backsafe website does not provide much in terms of pictoral recognition either however, they did try and, afterall, pictures tell stories of a thousand words – well at least that’s what I was brought up to believe anyway.

So, being a very enthusiastic amateur photographer from the North West and as mentioned earlier, I took the liberty of harrassing my cameras’ features and captured numerous action shots from the day.

All in all a great day out made better by the fact that the sun was blazing, tyres were being blown out, safety to bikers again encouraged and it provided a fantastic photo opportunity to be captured and reported – well by someone somewhere, somehow… me!
