Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
It's precisely comments like these characterizing the BMW S1000RR as ugly that have been the final factor in my decision to order one. In the past 24 years of riding, I have owned liter bikes from Suzuki, Honda, and Yamaha. I have enjoyed every one of them and had no major complaints. They all had their strengths AND weaknesses. Over the past few years, I have had difficulty deciding which bike would be my next purchase since they have all transfigured into similar appearing "cookie-cutter looks" machines. There was nothing visually substantial that set them apart. Cue the BMW. The asymetrical appearance distinuguishes the BMW from every other liter bike out there. The fact that many of you consider it ugly only solidifies and reinforces my purchasing decision without even bringing into account the amazing power to weight ratio and significance of the electronic ABS & DTC system. Just think,,, this is BMW's first real effort into this arena.

S1000RR Better in Black
I bought my White Aprilia RSV4R, mainly for it's looks and sound, it now has a Tail Tidy and a GP can on it. After 750 miles on UK roads in just 3 weeks, I can say it's unbelievably fast. I have owned blades, (brilliant), etc and have still kept my ZZR1400, for speed and comfort, especialy 2 up, but this little Aprilia is something else, just so small and nimble. I am doing a track day with it this Monday 22nd March. I agree with the comments below about the S1000RR being should we say an aquired taste (UGLY) in the looks department but a friend of mine has just took delivery of one in Black with an Acro Can, which happens to match the Swing Arm and Wheel colour and it does look good. I guess the Black allows the lines of the bike to blend better. Either way I am not swapping my RSV4R for one.

Carnt belive the r1 came in 9th, to me the r1 will always be king. Dont get me wrong, i think that BMW has made on hell of a bike but its still a long way from draging me off a yam. The only european bike that has interested me is the Aprillia, and i do love the Ducati's but im allways put off by their price tag. Think i would rather have a Bimota db7 than a 1198.

Too damn ugly!
I just can not believe that BMW would build such an awesome performer and package it in such a hideously butt-ugly shell. I'll never understand the teutonic way of thinking!
No way I'd ever ride something that fugly, I don't care how well it performs. Screw that!
